I bought it so my dogs wouldn't run around the house and climb where they shouldn't. After getting this setting, I realized how annoying it is to open it. It closes and latches easily, but to open it you have to lift the gate from the bottom latch mechanism that accepts the pin by pressing both top buttons before you can open it.
