We needed a large baby gate for a 48 inch door. The only gate I could find that fits is the one with the cat door. We had another more expensive one and it was junk for 8 months. We have a German Shepherd, a Lhaso Apso and 2 cats. We absolutely must have a cat door as the previous gate didn't have one. Scratched them and the original wood structure in 1926 by Tudor. Anyway, cats can go through the door, one weighs 24 pounds and the other 17. They fit perfectly, but the Lhaso Apso, which weighs 22 pounds, is afraid to go through the door. It makes a pretty solid and well-made impression. The problem is that there is no way to remove the cat flap. I would cut it off but it's so tight I can't nap on it. tie and it just looks gaudy. If anyone figured out how to remove the cat flap please let me know. Otherwise YES, I would buy it again.
