Review on 🌧️ Enhance Weather Protection with DJC Supply Weather Plastic Junction by Anthony Shields

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not new. The gasket doesn't fit either.

This is clearly not new. Two screws were partially torn off. The box was scratched. In addition, the gasket does not seat properly in the groove, making it difficult or impossible to achieve a weather seal. If I push it into a groove, it just pops out somewhere else. UPDATE: Added a star after installing the box. I'm only giving 3 stars because I'm still upset about receiving a cosmetically damaged, obviously used product even though I thought I'd buy a new one, but it looks like this box would be (barely) good for that be what i need. The partially stripped screws still worked well when I used a large enough screwdriver, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that these plastic screws only take up the first third of the partial bulkhead clearance hole, making it easy to open the box by inserting mounting screws to be installed (not included in the kit) into the holes behind the visible plastic screws that hold the cover closed. Also, the pad has somehow learned to sit flat so it's no longer a problem. I was also pleased to find that it was relatively easy to drill through the bottom of the box to create cable entry points without destroying the plastic (the drill carefully scraped clean strips of plastic without damaging the adjacent plastic). I used a regular auger bit so I'm not sure if a hole saw bit or blade bit would work, but I imagine a hole saw bit would work. Even with the lid closed. , and since the pad lays flat, I'm a little worried about how weatherproof it is. Looking at the seam between the lid and the body of the box, the lid appears to be slightly curved in the middle, so it can only seal very well with a compressed gasket in the areas next to the screws in the corner. However, it looks like it's sealed, but not so well that I wouldn't worry about it forever.
