I decided to try these because I was tired of spending too much money on jodhpurs! I was a bit skeptical about zippers because they look cheap but have held up so far. As for the bags. Pockets are a crucial criterion when choosing riding breeches, because of course you want your valuables to be safe. I like the deep pockets in these shorts, wish they had zips but the depth protects valuables. The lower pockets are zipped but not very deep. I wish they were the other way around! Overall I am satisfied and will consider buying another pair.
