We have an auto repair shop that works in harsh petrochemical environments. Phones fall, slide on the floor, are left in vehicles, under hoods, on carts, and so on. Our phones are down. We have been using the Panasonic KX-TG9391 two-line system since February 2003. Since then we have bought 6 more phones ranging in price from $50 to $80. We appreciate the phones durability, ringer volume and dual settings, backlit display, storage capacity, long-lasting battery and most importantly the frequency response on these phones. We ran over one and left two in customers' cars. (Bye! Bye!) In a fit of rage, the technician threw one of them against the wall and smashed it. But we've dropped these phones hundreds of times and they continue to work. The only real flaws I can find at the manufacturer level is that the LCD fades over time and becomes invisible as the battery life decreases, and the soldering of the amp wires could be improved a bit. Other than that, it's been an excellent phone system for over 12 years.
