I'm always looking for open-ended kids' toys and this fits right in. I think maybe I like this product more than my daughter! It's hard for them to "stack" them on their own, but I think it's a very conscious approach. We use them to talk about colour, size and shape - love the cards included to show you what you can create. They don't hold their attention for long, but I encourage them to use them during their development as I know the game will change over time. This is not wood but plastic (but feels nice). Interesting toy with an open end!
