This cat house is not only attractive, but also particularly stable. I have had him for 2 years now and he has passed through the kitten stage of both of my cats. All three LOVE the apartment, fighting for a spot upstairs. I have a 12 lb maine coon and a 14 lb tabby kitten and an 8 month old kitten and they both fit very comfortably on the top bunk and the 14 lb guy loves the lower bunk kennel hanging around. So not just for small or medium-sized cats! The 13 lb dude and kitty love to climb the pole to get to the top and there is no problem with stability, he is wall standing. Neither of them used the shelf until I added PetCo's $10 Harmony Oval cat bed (in black), and it's now the second-best spot for basking in puddles in the sun. The top perch comes with a washable thin pad, I vacuum the rest. Rope scratching posts are a success on all levels and have proven themselves very well after 2 years. This product is highly recommended!
