Review on SINGER Sewing Machine Needles, 1-Pack, Size 18, Pack of 3 by Denise Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Strange consistency of the needles.

I sew fleece with layers of different absorbent or shock-absorbing materials in between. Sometimes the layers get a little thicker, so I wanted to get stronger needles. It's strange that there are more needles in the cases than there really are. I'm still trying to figure out why they don't add more needles to them and just take a little bit more. In this day and age when everyone hates plastic in landfills, that seems like a no-brainer to me. At least once a week I would break or bend needles, and then one day I suddenly had three needles in a row that didn't take more than ten minutes! I then put one in and didn't have to change it, although it encountered what sounded like it had been bent 5 times. I've had the same needle for over a month now and was afraid to post a review so as not to jinx it. I still use a needle and haven't had any problems with the thread coming out of the spool area like it does when the needle is slightly bent or too blunt. Aside from that one needle, I hadn't been too impressed before. I hope the remaining needles are as good as the ones I'm using now.

Pros
  • Machine needles
Cons
  • Small parts
