Works well, eliminates water hammer
I added this just before the solenoid for my whole house humidifier. This completely eliminated the hammer problem. All I hear now is the solenoid valve clicking, closing as it should. I appreciated the fact that they included a compression fitting as I had to shorten the 1/4" hose to accommodate the shock. It's good that there were both male and female connections so I didn't need any extra fittings.
