This is one of my favorite pedals for general riding, mountain biking and touring. They have a big platform and the clothespins hold the shoes well. But the pins are built into the platform and are made of plastic, unlike most other pedals with metal screws sticking out. Plastic ones can wear out quicker than metal ones, but if they hit your shins, they won't bleed like metal ones. After it happened a few times and then it didn't happen with these, they quickly became one of my favorite pedals.
