I bought an Aurora micro cutter grinder and it works so well I decided to buy the grinder oil that Aurora sells. It's inexpensive compared to my local stationery stores, doesn't smell, and the flip-top lid makes it easy to apply. While Aurora recommends spraying it directly into the shredder slot, I prefer to apply it between two sheets of paper. If I do it my way I might have to smear more often, but you use so little, it's much cleaner, and I don't have to shred large amounts—just regular resumes and junk mail with my name and address on it.
