Review on ๐Ÿงฅ ColdGear Reactor Performance Jacket for Women by Under Armour by Keegan Herbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Low insulation and attic; strange neck; small pockets

I love the unique pattern on this Under Armor jacket. The attic is very low and light. I actually have the feeling that there is hardly any filling in it. The length is short enough to guarantee a sporty blazer. It is quite breathable and protects against light rain. The fit seems right to me for a height of 5ft 2" and a 36/31/41 on average. I think there are a few oddities. The pockets are small. I have small hands and my whole hand doesn't fit in the side pockets with fingers splayed. They are designed in such a way that I would be afraid to put my phone or even keys in as the pockets are shallow and things can fall out. They are lined with cozy fleece fabric. There is an internal zippered chest pocket that allows you to store oversized items. The funnel neckline is really big as per the description but it has an odd shape and rises enough at the back to prevent a mid-length ponytail. The neckline is roomy and comfortable and seems designed to accommodate a thick layer of turtleneck underneath, but I'm not sure why you'd need that for a blazer. There is no adjustable drawstring as stated in the description. The cuffs are comfortable, as is the hem, both ribbed and thick enough to keep the weather out. It looks a bit like a bomber jacket with an elasticated hem. The narrow knit edge at the neck seems to be a controversial and purely aesthetic feature. I like it, I don't like it. This is a good looking jacket even with the awkward very high collar at the back, even for a funnel collar. I don't think the insulation factor is significant and it's more of a stylish windbreaker with some rain protection. It's not as functional as I think a blazer should be. My rating is closer to 3-1/2 stars than 4.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Good overall but...
