Review on Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Blue) by Tim Morrison

2nd owner - fantastic camera.

I just looked at the receipt for my stolen Canon SD1100IS and it turns out I bought it in January 2009. So about 3 years later the "perfect storm” happened. 1) We used it to take family photos for Christmas more carefully [even with a tripod and planning shots] than ever before. 2) My SD port on my laptop wasn't working, so the usual "just in case" photo backup didn't happen before we drove home. 3) Last but not least, our van was robbed for the first time while the camera was in the "all for all" basket [for the first time] all night. The perfect storm. i miss the camera Heart broken over photos. A few weeks ago I looked at the SD1100IS camera again and wondered if I should buy it again just because of the good quality or buy a new one. I noticed the 'used' tab and saw that this camera is selling for $48 in 'good' condition. I have never bought anything used from Revain. Read about "AZ Garantee" and all that stuff, but I really knew I was probably playing $50 dice. i did this Used Canon SD1100IS appeared two days ago. Looks like he's been to hell and back. Scratched, dented, chipped paint. We had the opposite; always in a soft bag and looked like new. This one looked like it had spent its entire life floating around in a purse full of keys and angry birds. LAUGH OUT LOUD. Well it worked great. Not only did it work great and take great pictures, just like ours, but it also reminded me again and again what a wonderful camera this is. We're not using 90% of the features on these digital cameras, but if you just want solid performance then that's about it. I never knew how durable this camera was because we took good care of ours. Buying this used car shows me that it can take a beating and still offer the same quality of performance. Thank you for your attention. ********************* Updated comment August 2012 - Another 'used' camera came with an extra charger and memory card which we don't really need - Oooh , I had an idea. My soon to be 15 year old needed a camera so I found ANOTHER EXACT same model used on Revain by 'KEH Camera' - and it had good reviews so I took a chance and bought another $53. This latest used camera is in as good condition as our stolen one! In any case, my kid is NOT responsible, so I'd rather lose a $53 camera [that takes pictures like a $300 camera] than a brand new $100 camera that records like a $100 camera and is powered by batteries. :)****************************Updated on 08/06/2013 - One year later. Was looking through old reviews and decided to update this one on the "crazy" chance someone would read it. Both of these USED cameras still work great. A total investment of $101 for two cameras that originally cost $250 each. Oddly enough, I've noticed a few people with newer cameras, and those old Canons are still just as good or even better. If you're trying to decide whether or not to go through the confusing image of the camera to invest in, I recommend looking at the used tab of Revain scopes - look at "reliable" Revain certified vendors - and consider trying a used/refurbished camera first.
