I tried another brand of similar dock before purchasing Purgo and it was pretty bad. The quality of the Purgo hardware is much better as it is nice and solid and attaches more firmly to the ports on my MacBook Pro. Thunderbolt/Power transfer works as expected, along with the USB capabilities. There are two main issues I've encountered so far: - I've connected an HDMI monitor to it along with a Thunderbolt 5K display and when I connect it to my computer, the HDMI display won't boot. I have to unplug the Thunderbolt cable, plug it in to get the HDMI display to light up, and then plug the 5K display back in. It's a little annoying when the main reason for buying it was to have something plugged in when I plug my laptop into the dock. It covers the headphone jack when used on the left side. It seems like leaving room for a headphone jack next to it, or maybe incorporating a pass-through jack in some way, would be pretty easy, but I had to buy a USB audio adapter so I could plug in my headphones. annoying.
