later These templates are perfect for finishing the stairs in my house. I used 2 pieces of masking tape to attach the stencils to the risers and placed them before I started painting - to get the spacing right - once I had one of the stencils finished I placed it on a piece of newspaper with the wet one on Side up - when I finished my row of 6 pieces, taped them onto the next riser in a different order. I kept the edges and bottom of the stencil as I painted this area. When I was done I let them dry and used them again. I loved that there were 25 different templates and I could choose my favorite 12 templates for the stairs - plus I could swap out more if I wanted. I used the paint used on the wall in the photo and blue bathroom paint (which I had on hand) and 2 medium brushes. I wanted the risers to look like hand painted tiles so we weren't looking for perfect lines but I think a sharp pattern can be achieved with a stencil brush and the right thick stencil paint. I am happy with the results :)
