Review on 68 Ounce Glass Pitcher with Lid - Heat-Resistant Water Jug for Hot/Cold Water, Ice Tea, and Juice Beverages by Bill Russett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I had two and I really liked both of them until they quickly broke.

Just the right size for making tea during the day, they look good and fit easily on the stove or in the fridge. The problem is that they are made from very thin and delicate glass, which is better suited for things to be viewed on a shelf than for use in the kitchen. These pitchers aren't forgiving at all, so you won't get away with even the slightest non-ideal use case. My first pot lasted almost 6 months before the base cracked and fell out - probably from cooling too quickly, but I really liked the design and size so I bought another one. I was more careful, but it only took a month and a half before the bottom cracked when I poured room temperature water into the jug immediately after pouring hot (not boiling) water from it. Two is enough. If you are very, very careful and fundamentally change the way you run your kitchen to accommodate that fragile jug, you could get a year before you throw the parts away, but I wouldn't count on it.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • Slightly torn
