It's definitely not designed for wide angles, maybe under 24mm as another owner mentioned. Otherwise vignetting will occur. It is made of durable plastic. It has slots for 3 filters and a slightly thinner slot for a cover. The holders rotate freely and easily, will not slip or rotate on their own. I left my clear UV filter at first and then just replaced it with the Cokin ring and cap. Finally I put the UV filter back on with Kokin's ring. I would rather break my filter than my lens. I think the hood would be a great addition.
