However, it works fine.

It also takes some getting used to. That's why I gave it a 4. It is not easy to remove and insert filters, especially those with round notches. It's definitely not designed for wide angles, maybe under 24mm as another owner mentioned. Otherwise vignetting will occur. It is made of durable plastic. It has slots for 3 filters and a slightly thinner slot for a cover. The holders rotate freely and easily, will not slip or rotate on their own. I left my clear UV filter at first and then just…

Great filter system for SLR/DSLR lenses

I started using the Cokin filter system with Minolta X-700 lenses many years ago. I've always found it easier to fit a filter or two into the mount than to unscrew/unscrew the filters from the lens. The holder is useless unless you buy the right size adapter for your lens. The holder can accommodate multiple filters at the same time as well as a circular polarizing Cockins filter. I just leave a filter holder attached to each of the two lenses I have for my Nikon D90. Of course, that means…

I've been using the Cokin P series for 30 years,

.and I'd like to dispel the idea that they're made out of cheap plastic. 1. The adapters that attach the mounts to the lens are made of metal with precision threads. They mate well with the lens threads, and once installed, you'll never need to screw a filter onto that lens again. They can be placed over permanent protection or a UV filter.
