I've been using the Original Power Probe for a long time (about 15 years, maybe 20). I bought and still own two original Probe test lamps that I got from my local Snap-On truck in the 90's. They still work like new and the build quality of the new probe looks the same or even better than the original. As an avid user of my probe (I've been installing car audio and security systems for the state's largest car audio dealer for 15 years), the only thing I wanted was the power delivery capabilities. For this I modified one of my old probes. The addition of this feature along with an audible alarm (sometimes you can't see the probe in hard-to-reach places) and a voltage indicator are great new features. The only drawback to the original was the somewhat short cable length, which shouldn't be a problem. I also like the carrying case which gives it a nice safe place to store and transport. If I have a problem, it's the size. The overall length can make it difficult to get into tight quarters at times, but it's really a minor flaw that more than makes up for everything else. This is by far one of my favorite tools in my arsenal.
