a good, sturdy cord
I have a pellet grill, so it needs electricity for the auger and I have no external outlets at my apartment. This cord runs from the kitchen to the patio and would go out into the yard if desired. It is sturdy enough to withstand having the door closed on it and colorful enough to be seen when in use.
