It works great on hikes: I can attach it (both landscape and portrait) to my Manfrotto monopod / Trekking pole (which I did, and even when I dropped the pole on the ledge with the iPhone attached to this mount, my iPhone stayed securely fixed. Branch for a distant (temporary) group photo. Doesn't wobble or pause, but enough Easy on- and undress I think this would make a great gift for any iPhone photographer/videographer.
