I am delighted that I have purchased this affordable and versatile mobile phone holder. When I opened the box, the phone holder was intact. There are no instructions on the box or inside the box on how to install or use this phone holder. If you look at the stand that you put your phone in, it's small, but it expands to accommodate different sized phones by pushing/pulling the retractable lever on one side of the stand. There is a spring mechanism that allows it to expand when needed. M It features a strong suction cup to attach the phone holder to the windshield/dashboard. I didn't know at first how the suction cup would stick to anything other than my windshield, so I tried that first. I peeled off the protective film from the silicone suction cup and stuck it on the windshield. I then pressed a small "clip" on the base to secure it. The phone holder is very durable and won't go anywhere! Then I decided to see how it would look on my dashboard. This didn't work either. That's why I gave this phone holder 4 stars instead of 5 because it's advertised as a windshield/dash mount. If the silicone suction cup was a little stickier than other phone holders I've tried, it would probably stay in place on my rougher textured dashboard. Finally I tried it on my console because it has a very smooth texture part. I placed the suction cup on the smooth part of the console and pressed the "clip" and it snapped securely onto the console. Just a note: if you want to release the silicone suction cup, pull the "clip" up, and if you want to fix it firmly in place, press the "clip" down. It won't stick to anything unless you push the "clip" down, and it will be difficult to remove unless you push the "clip" up. I was using my husband's Samsung Galaxy when I tried it out. I figured if his phone could fit in easily and stay in place, then so could my smaller, lighter iPhone. The first photo in my review is of the box it came in with no instructions. The second photo shows a close-up of the silicone teat. The third photo shows what it looks like on my windshield. The fourth and fifth photos show what it looks like in two different places on my console. I love this phone holder and plan to use it regularly to keep my iPhone in a convenient place. I received this phone holder at a discount for my honest and unbiased review. I will update if there is any issue with the phone in the mount.
