I bought this camera for photography in the rainforest. Haven't used it there yet, but have used it around the house and on camping trips. He takes great pictures outdoors. Indoors, the quality can sometimes be below average. This is usually a problem with target shooting (with the right lighting indoors), but it really takes a lot of light here to get a good shot without a flash. The other downside is that it's a bit larger than my previous waterproof camera, but not by much. Otherwise, this is an incredible deal. It has almost all the settings found in more expensive cameras. Unfortunately, there is only one macro setting, but it's not that important for everyone. Camera settings are changed via the LCD menu, which isn't as easy as the dial that many cameras come with, but after learning how to use the menu I think it's just as easy. I think for the money this is a great camera for someone who spends a lot of time outdoors and wants to use the camera for situations like this. Not a good buy for those who plan to mainly shoot indoors, or even those who really want to use it for snorkeling. Considering the low light issues and shallow depth limitation of this camera, it would be better to buy a more expensive underwater camera if it is mainly used for underwater photography.
