I have bought Wemo plugs for the house and this plug from Meross is much simpler and more reliable than these. Setup was super easy. Downloaded the app, connected to Wi-Fi and was up and running in less than 5 minutes. I like that it has two independent switches. I can plug two different sets of lights into the same outlet and control each separately. Changing the default names for each switch was no problem, and the changes took effect across all of my Echo devices immediately. Speaking of Echo and Alexa devices, it was nice to see how easy it was to integrate with Alexa. I just added the skill and was good to go. This is in stark contrast to my Wemo connections which often lose connection and seem to have more lag. With the Meross socket, there are no lags and it never stops being stuck. I have an outlet outside and it seems to have a good connection even though it's farther from my wifi router than other devices. Although I can't check the signal strength, it doesn't bother me. The only thing I would like to add is HomeKit (Apple) compatibility. HomeKit-enabled outdoor devices don't cut it, and compatible devices cost twice as much. However, the Alexa support is sufficient as my house is mostly covered with Alexa devices and the Meross app can control the switch when I'm out of range of the Echos. I've been using it for a few weeks and I highly recommend this switch. I will update this review if anything changes.
