Review on πŸ–₯️ White 3 Feet Mini DisplayPort to HDTV Cable - Compatible with Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt 2 Ports by Paul Giordano

No longer working well for DVI-HDMI adapter

This cable started to fail this week while I was giving a presentation. At the end of the day I brought everything home, ran a series of tests and was quickly convinced it was the cable (another identical cable from the same manufacturer - the 15ft version - reproduced the problem after about 30 tests) . All tests with a 6 foot cable reproduced the problem. Now that we know that this cable is the problem, here are the symptoms: The projector's signal was dropping out every few seconds on the HDMI 1 port, producing erratic bright flashes on the HDMI 2 port (my LCD projector has two connectors ). Not sure why the symptoms were different on the two ports. There was no debris in the connectors and I burned through both ends to make sure I didn't miss anything (no debris). The next day I used the 15ft cable all day on the same projectors without a single problem. So this company is able to make cables that work. However, the quality is so poor that the cables are prone to breakage. Failing at home isn't devastating (except maybe a Super Bowl party). Failing to present yourself in front of a group of paying people is devastating! Luckily I was able to get through the first day with annoying and erratic bright flashes. Apparently these wires are shorted. Maybe that's why the number of 1-star ratings is growing. I've never had an AV cable break - I didn't even think it was possible without cutting it. If you need a working HDMI cable for important presentations on the go, I recommend always having a spare cable on hand. Why not? They are cheap!
