Okay, so I took the time to figure out the correct speaker spacing and spacing, installed wall mounts and "small" speakers, and added two models of Def Tech surround speakers in the back left and right corners of my room. Run 16 gauge speaker wire and label each wire per good installation practice. This "kit" of surround speakers is a testament to the speaker designers and those who then pushed that final design into production. Are they of premium audiophile quality? no But surprisingly good price and really good sound considering their smaller size. They also prove that speakers don't have to have great looks to sound great. Note: I lowered both the subwoofer level and the filter frequency because this tiny box surprised me with its low frequency energy. Also note that in a "smaller room," a smaller subwoofer speaker design is preferred because the speaker cone has less mass and the bass energy is crisper and clearer, with no heavy clusters in the corners of most surround sound rooms. I still need to add some acoustic control to my tiny LR to fix short reverb issues. Whether it's better Well-recorded music, movie soundtracks or live sports broadcasts, this included surround sound system is impressive, especially for the price. Am I exaggerating this report?
