Review on πŸ“‘ HYS NA-771 VHF/UHF Dual Band BNC Handheld Antenna 144/430Mhz for ICOM IC-V85 IC-V82 IC-V80 Walkie Talkie by Jon Booth

Not exactly specified.

This BNC antenna arrived today and I immediately started testing it on my lab equipment. To be honest I didn't expect this antenna to be as good as the real Nagoya NA-771 (I had a real Nagoya NA-771 for reference but recently it broke beyond repair). I bought this inexpensive HYS Twin to replace my broken original Nagoya NA-771. This HYS antenna can be used, but the element is too long for optimal performance. SWR on VHF falls approximately 2:1 (two to one) on VHF, which can be used, but SWR on UHF is 6:1 (six to one). I can see from my gear that if I shorten the element a bit I can get the SWR to be a better match. A bigger improvement in customization will happen after my tuning on the UHF band. Not a bad antenna for the price. I've seen much worse Nagoya fakes. YMMV. 73
