We ordered this spray before our new sofa was delivered because our cat scratched our old sofa the first day and over time ripped the armrests to shreds. We sprayed this on the new sofa when it arrived and the cat hasn't touched it (it's been over a year). The smell is a little strong when you first spray it on, but it's not unpleasant. The obvious odor dissipates fairly quickly but obviously continues to affect the cat as she never scratches. The spray did not damage (fade or stain) any part of the sofa that we sprayed on. Very satisfied.
