The first gift I received may have had a fault in the stitching and fell apart after a short use. I've ordered a replacement just in case. I also ordered a braided version without seams, just in case. After purchasing this second leash I received an email from customer service who seemed really committed to quality so I figured they would want to know about the faulty leash. I replied and told them about the first leash and that I made this purchase to replace a faulty leash that was given to me and didn't want to ask my girlfriend to ask for a refund and risked hurting her gift choice. Her reply implied I wasn't taking care of the leash properly and gave such instructions not to allow dogs to chew on the leash, suggesting it was my fault the stitches didn't work. My grandson and I use this leash daily on our German Shepherd that he is training for 4H and I train a therapy dog and emotional support dog for PTSD. The leash proved to be soft and pliable, easy to use, right out of the box. Good quality bars which is a safety issue for us and our dogs. I am satisfied with the quality of this new leash. When working with natural materials there is always a risk of an unexpected natural flaw in the material. I understand that and suspect this was probably why the stitching fell apart so easily on the first one.
