Konnwei KW850 is great for petrol engines but didn't read codes for our 1996 7.3 diesel engine. We bought the scanner because it includes diesel engines from 1996 to present. We tried several times but it only displayed speed and RPM. We then hooked it up to our 2014 Jeep Wrangler and it worked like clockwork. Maybe the problem was the age or the diesel engine but we had to send it back as it didn't meet our requirements. 08/08/18 I have updated my review after receiving a reply from Konnwei. I was very impressed by their willingness to help. Their representative explained the reasons why it would not fit our 1996 7.3 diesel engine. I suggested that they change the information to say "For 1997 and newer vehicles. I was told it will be done. They are more than willing to answer any of your questions.
