Microwave working again

My cheap Magic Chef (Daewoo) microwave worked for a year and a half before all of a sudden it just started the fan. No light, no spinning turntable, no microwave. The door has three switches and the one that failed was at the bottom, the hardest to reach. When I pulled it out the only wattage listed was "0.3A 24VDC" and the manufacturer's name "GERSUNG" didn't help much in locating any data. The switch melted in places, and "burn marks" could be seen not only on the contacts, but also on the start button. Since this switch is on one side of the AC input, an equivalent rating of 16A seemed reasonable. In fact, I found the LONYE switch to be identical to the top switch labeled "StrAton" on the page opposite the reviews. I don't know why Daewoo used a different switch on the other side of the line, maybe to have at least one Korean made part in the unit. The Straton/LONYE switch fits, the clamps fit and the microwave works again. How long? Well, it's not that hard to change them; At the moment I rate it 4 stars. Please note that Straton switches are sold by other Revain dealers; look at the photos in the ads. Note that my Daewoo-made microwave, while cheap, had a "bleed" resistor on the capacitor, so it didn't stay charged for more than a few minutes. Even when present, these resistors can fail; It's a very good idea before doing anything in the oven to make sure the capacitor is dead and something other than your hand. Yes, I did it once on a different microwave.
