My dog found it very difficult to concentrate when busy sniffing or chasing something. Maybe he just went into the bushes or went too far to forget where he was. I didn't have too many expectations before purchasing this e-collar but who cares. Serious! As soon as I opened the box, I put the collar around my neck and tested it on myself from 10 to 99. So I know what I'm giving him. It hurts a little after 35 or so, and it's quite painful when you're in your 70s. I just wanted it to be a small electrically responsive muscle and it was somewhere between 15 and 25. I've only had to use Shock 2 times (strength 15) and since then I've never had to use Shock again. I had to honk my horn for a while but now I can easily get his attention with a beep and even the beeping is decreasing weekly and I need to beep probably 3-4 times a week and that's it. Things have gotten a lot simpler and it does a good job on the waterproofing and I charge the battery about 2 times a month but so far it has never run out of juice. Really really good product and my only regret is that I didn't get it sooner.
