This is a charcoal that helps remove odors. We sprinkle and mix some with kitty litter and it really helps. So not just for your aquarium filters! As far as I know it's non-toxic and better for cats than the scented powders some people use to mask stinkers! This can cause a number of problems with a cat's respiratory, eye, ear, and nose.
