Review on 🐠 AQUANEAT Corner Sponge Filter for Nano Shrimp and Fish Tank Breeding by Jeanette Khammanivong

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good size for any aquarium up to 5 or 6 gallons

I have been using these filters and others like them for over 25 years to raise a variety of fish from guppies and angelfish to keeping and breeding bettas. Slightly undersized for a tank much over 5 gallons (I believe it was advertised as 10 gallons), I would use 2 of these at 10 gallons or 3 at 15-20 (or use the larger version at 10 and up) . ). They are simple and easy to use and fit perfectly in a corner. In combination with live plants, they do a good job of maintaining good water conditions. Once installed we mostly only change the water twice a month unless there are a lot of plants thanks to a lot of plants. I stick with the old school of filters, I use sponge filters, corner filters (same supplier I think) and bottom filters for most of my aquariums (depending on the fish involved). I have 1 (HOB, AquaClear, which my dad found at a thrift store for about $4, I fill it with polyfil when I need to clean the water, not as the main filter) and several internal Tetra filters that come with the kit to be supplied. Aquarium Kits (small, plus 2 of these sponge filters in a 3-piece 10 gallon container that holds 3 female bettas who don't get along, a medium in my 10 gallon QT aquarium and a large in my son's 29 gallon aquarium with juvenile goldfish, 6 hooli loaches, 2 juvenile mint bristle-nosed catfish and a couple of mystery snails (*tank has served as an algae farm for many years) plus a large sponge filter and angled or box filter for gentle and safe suction i currently only use 1 soil under the gravel in my daughter's rooster tank (10 gallons at 2/3 full with up to 7 drilled plastic containers with 1/2 gallon mixed nuts/caramel corn on top of the gravel (a nod to Simply's 18 chickens) Betta in a 40 gallon setup.y is easy: bins need a full clean every 7-10 days and gravel about every 2 weeks.)
