I marked my mailbox with it. They held up well and mounted without problems for a while. I was worried about the paint peeling off so I used a spray on automotive clear coat to coat it after application. In this case, close the while mailbox. I can see where I've applied a clear coat and where I haven't, under certain lighting conditions or after rain. I like the modern look. The only thing I wish they were in a brushed nickel finish. I prefer that over chrome.
