Efficient And Secure Package Delivery With Step2 Express Box - Mocha, 31"H X 18"W X 23"D Review

I had to color in the "deliveries" with a blue marker on both sides to be mor visible but that didn't help with people using it. I posted a sign and taped it over with clear tape "Packages inside this box" and they started using it. I also flipped the lid over and wrote "pizza here" for my pizza deliveries. The lid fits the top upside down very well like a desk top and can hold lots of weight. Not sure if the company thought about this but it works so well.

I had had it with having my packages "disappear" from my front porch. So I bought this. This thing is ginormous. It weighs nx to nothing. UPS couldn't quite figure out what it was until I added signage to indicate that pkgs should be placed inside. I added 50 lbs of free weights to keep it in place. I signed up with USPS, UPS, FedEx delivery notification. Easy peasy, done and dusted.

I just moved to a new house that has an exposed front door porch. I order a lot online frequently and want my packages weather proof, protected and safe from theft. This package box does all that! Its great. pretty self explanatory. if you get a lot of deliveries, this can help hide things from porch pirates and protect packages from inclement weather.The word "Deliveries" is hard to see as it comes shipped to you so I ordered an enamel paint pen and colored in the letters to make it stand out better. depending on your carrier they may still miss it, so I recommend extra signage near the box. even if you do, they sometimes still ignore the box.I did add some eggshell foam to the bottom…

This box has been a game changer since quarantine. I get stuff delivered almost daily and was tired of my packages getting wet or the delivery person leaving them behind my bushes to conceal it, which is nice but the boxes get dirty and it tracks inside. I’ve had this for a couple years. It’s been usually used, but not all delivery services like Best Buy allow for complete instructions to its drivers. Wish the app allowed it. So I’ve plastered signs all over it too. Never water in it. I have it under and overhang and put it up on blocks.I wish it came with a black and white sign that allowed the embossed delivery sign to actually be effective. Not sure the point of making that hard to see. Nice idea 90% done.

The box is fine, but I’m guessing it will need to be weighted down as it is very lightweight like a plastic storage tote. However, it irked me that I was sent a different color than I ordered. I ordered the mocha so it would blend in on my porch, and not be super noticeable from the road. I was sent black. Had I wanted black, I would’ve ordered it. I placed this up my rural, unpaved road near the main road to keep delivery trucks from tearing up my driveway and our road. The inconvenience of stopping to check is nothing compared to having to fill ruts and fix fence damage from the trucks. Delivery folks love it, too, because getting up to my house is hard and they are not supposed to turn around so they either have to back down the drive or park downhill and walk up. This seems to be a decent product, but we'll see if the package handlers don't destroy it. The top fits a bit too loose and I was afraid it would blow away so I put rubber channel gasket on the edge of the lid and now it fits snug, even with high winds we just had, the lid stayed put.This little box is roomy enough for most packages. High marks for everything, even has a moisture escape screened hole near the bottom, but needs a plastic window in the lid so you don't have to open it to see if anyone put a delivery into it. Kind of a pain having to open the lid every time you come home.For you home repair buffs simply cutting a large hole in the lid and glueing a piece of plexiglass over the hole will solve that problem (Cutting the hole with a rotozip works just fine.).

The box worked as advertised, kept delivery items dry etc. It’s also reasonably presentable in appearance.However, in the first windy rain storm it was empty and got blown off the front entry.We weighed it down with a couple of large (clean) rocks and it’s now stable.Update: One of our grandsons replaced the rocks with a 25lb bag of sand, tightly sealed. It’s more stable and cleaner.

We have a 1000 ft long stone driveway that goes down a hill, so we got this receptacle for oversized packages to leave up by our mailbox near the main road. it's perfect. We weighted it down with two large rocks in the bottom of it. At some point we will put a small layer of concrete in it and ditch the rocks. There's also a vent for the box to breath. Ok for starters i purchased this at a discounted price from amazon warehouse because it was a return/used, item arrived in perfect shape besides the bottom was scuffed up from pavement/rocks, i attached it to my gate to prevent theifs from stealing my box,ups delivered packages the other day an actually put them in my box,i did as others, filled in the deliverys letters with marker,bought both my metal signs above box and on box, on Best Buy as well,its a cute set up,thinking i night get one…

Love its idea. Not the lightweight part. I did put bricks in the bottom of it as well so it wouldn't get blown away. So far the top stays on for me, I've read reviews where others had problems with the lid. I am sure if it gets blown and tumbled around the lid may have problems staying on. So far so good. I wanted the locking one but since it's more than double the price of this one, I decided to DIY it to make it more secure. Saving me more than $30! I bought a lock, latch, and hinges and fastened them on simply with a screwdriver. The latch is a bit big for it, but I made it work. I also took the advice of other customers and colored the letters in to make it easier to see. We've had quite a bit of rain and that was one of the reasons for getting this box. The problem we're having is accumulation of over an inch of water in the bottom of the box, even though the lid is on. We do not want our packages sitting in water, obviously. There is a round vent at the bottom on one side and, we plugged it with plastic. Water was still getting inside. On closer inspection, we could see water dripping down the inside of the box from the top on all sides. This must mean water…

I live in a rural area, the house is a distance from the road and there's a gate at the end of the driveway, so package-delivery services cannot get to the house to drop off packages. I put this box next to the gate to receive packages because the non-USPS packages are not supposed to be put in the mailbox (even though most of the time they are). I am pleasantly surprised by this box. I wasn't sure if the parcel carriers would use it but most of them do. The box has instructions on how to set your preferences with each carrier, but that is kind of a cumbersome process. UPS does not seem to have an option to deliver in this box, but like I said most delivery people drop it in there.
