I live in a rural area, the house is a distance from the road and there's a gate at the end of the driveway, so package-delivery services cannot get to the house to drop off packages. I put this box next to the gate to receive packages because the non-USPS packages are not supposed to be put in the mailbox (even though most of the time they are). The box seems sturdy enough and has held up well so far (1 year+) even sitting in the sun. Unfortunately, it is very lightweight and would blow away in a storm so I spent $4 and bought a 50-pound sack of gravel at Lowes and dropped it in the bottom of the box. It is quite securely planted on the spot now. The cover fits tightly enough to stay on and keep rain out.
