There is one obvious downside.

The fact is they're not both purple. rzunimag. Honestly, I have no other complaints. I gifted a 2013 MacBook Air that would have been on its way to becoming a paperweight if these smart little modifiers hadn't been available. And if you're the type of person who thinks all technology is equal, you've underused USB devices, micro-USB or whatever else in the damn USB family. I don't use metaphors, but if you stick something and never move it, then yes. Anything can be great. But the more you plug in and unplug because you're on the go, you can't remember which side should be up because one side doesn't go in at all and the other side doesn't feel you. connected at all. It's really free and after all, sometimes your USB end will just fall out. One day your machine will tell you that there isn't even a USB plug left, no matter what you plug in or how well it fits. Now he's offended by you and just locks you up. I have no reason to believe this won't happen with USB-C ports. The micro USB connectors seem too complicated to pull out of the gate. One thing I do know is that these little devices get abused and stay in my USB port for as long as I want because they are unobtrusive. I usually use dust plugs, but hey, micro dust? I think we'll see. I have a mouse and it uses a USB connector which I never take out. This device is only slightly more profiled. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I have a USB-C sized dust plug in my trick kit. Hmm. However. I love it. I use one for my external hard drive and one for my floppy drive. If they were all purple I would marry them.

Pros
  • Allows you to connect USB-C peripherals to devices with built-in USB-A ports.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
