We have set a non-working port

I like that the monitor works well. But why should they put in a sound port if there are no speakers. Connections - 1x Displayport 1.2, 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x DVI, 1x audio combo jack. I've tried putting the cable across the audio is just weird but nothing works well except this one.
