Review on ๐Ÿงน 10PCS Bristle Disc Kit: Rotary Tools Cleaning & Polishing with Mandrels, Ect-8 Grit by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great, but be careful.

The first two I used had the teeth fall out very quickly as mentioned in some other reviews. I tried not to consume more that day and continued my work. I gave them another chance and found that this was most likely due to user error (I think I pressed them too hard and used too high a speed for my spin tool). I've had much more success with a lighter touch of "letting the tool do its job". Although I figured it out, minus one star for not including some brief instructions on recommended speeds/pressures, making 20% of my purchase useless. I don't really have a comparison, but I use them to remove stains and prepare to repaint the milled contours on the pillars and railings of some 100 year old double sash windows. With this use, they each covered just under a square foot of sanding area (120 square inches give or take) and well over 20 minutes of total sanding time, which I think is pretty good. The only constant problem I see is that with big fingers it will be a bit difficult to manipulate the tiny washers, screw, washer and mandrel, but that's about the territory. One caveat: if you buy such a product, you may see reviews. for wheels from other suppliers, the use of multiple discs on the same mandrel is mentioned. This shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're grinding/polishing metal, but if you're using them on softer materials (wood, plastic, etc.), using multiple discs can create parallel grooves in the material if you're not careful. I wish I had wasted the first 2 of them I tried but I would buy this product again.

Pros
  • Feature: Rotary brush is a new type of abrasive, superior to sandpaper, serrated washers or other types of grinders, brushes or grinding wheels. Shaped, abrasive-filled bristles remove, deburr, smooth, finish, polish, clean and remove coatings more efficiently and with less pressure than wire brushes.
Cons
  • Not sure
