Wow, incredible performance for the price!

If you're like me you're probably confused trying to explore all the different mini PCs. I can save you a lot of time by saying that this product contains the latest. As of September 2020, there are still very few mini PCs that offer the latest standards. The Intel Celeron J4115, released in the fourth quarter of 2019, is still the best processor in this price range. You don't have to try to figure out all the Celeron names. This is the latest version. What really sets BMAX apart from all of its competitors is the ability to upgrade to an M.2 NVMe SSD. If you're considering a more capacity upgrade, look no further, this is what you need to buy. Note. It comes preinstalled with a 128GB M.2 SATA non-NVMe SSD. Again, all the SSD acronyms can get you confused. To make it simpler, if you see the word NVMe, buy it. This is the fastest of all SSD options. As of September 2020, there are very few mini PCs that support NVMe, even among those costing hundreds more. And just in case, avoid eMMC type storage at all costs, they're terribly slow for 2020. Therefore, it is not surprising that the motherboard also checks all other fields, including BT 5.0, DDR4 memory. The only puzzling aspect is the 2 USB 2.0 ports, which is very strange to see in 2020. But just use it for keyboard and mouse or USB headset. Overall, as of September 2020, this product is pretty much the one for you. You can find others with an Intel Celeron J4115 or J4125 processor, but if you dig deeper you'll find that the motherboard doesn't support M.2 NVMe SSD or BT5.0. A blue 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (that's the same price as a 1TB SATA SSD, so why not take advantage of the extra speed). And the fact that you can put it in a separate slot makes cloning a lot easier (no need to spend money to buy a clone-only USB adapter). It only took 2 minutes to clone the drive, or less than 5 minutes from start to finish (for browsing the menu options). So the overall value of this setup is incredible. And it's very funny that with the NVMe upgrade, this budget mini PC has a drive that's faster than most modern laptops and desktops (since most of them ship with a SATA SSD).

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • No automatic
