I used the IBT-4XC waterproof thermometer the same day I received it and the next day. I smoked venison sticks I made from deer I caught last October and it rained both days I smoked them. I attached the monitor to the smoker with a magnet, attached some meat probes and ran them over some sticks. I then lit the grill probe and attached it to the grate with one of the clamps that came with it. I was able to monitor the temperature in my living room with the bbq go app and set alarms for the grill temperature for each stage of temperature change and then an alarm for the final internal temperature of the meat. It worked great when it got wet from the rain, and I had no problem getting temporary in-app updates when I was over 100 feet from a smoker and walking through two walls. So far I am very satisfied with this device.
