For three seasons I coached the junior baseball team and the 10th baseball team with these baseballs during practice. Random throws during warm-up or throws when the other player is not looking can be dangerous; These baseballs are great accident insurance. Several players were hit in similar situations and no one was injured. Using these balls as a trainer is also a great idea to protect yourself and your assistant trainers! Although they are much safer than regular baseballs, they also mimic regular play. None of my teams had trouble adjusting to standard balls during games. A slightly softer feel gives players with a bit of ball fear more confidence to do their best in training. These balls also last a long time (at least 2 years) and can be hit and thrown over and over again without falling apart.
