I bought them and a Sony WH1000XM2 to compare. Cnet says they both have "9s" for sound quality. I agree, both sound great. Bose won the test for noise cancellation, performance on calls, comfort on my head, and audio processing. Phone performance: I compared how Bose and Sony sounded when recording and playing back my voice with the fan running. in the background. The Bose sounded like I was holding an old-fashioned handset and speaking in a quiet room - intimacy and no background noise. The Sony sounded like I was on speakerphone and I could hear background noise. (I also didn't record with either of them to check, and it sounded like I was on speakerphone, but I could hear more background noise as well.) This feature is important to me as I spend a lot of time on the phone and my clients prefer not to hear background noise. Sound quality Bose and Sony have excellent sound quality for music playback. I personally prefer the sound that Sony produces. The Sony iPhone app lets you choose levels on the equalizer, which I love. However, Bose listens to what music you're playing and automatically optimizes the sound, and it works really well. While I'd rather be able to adjust levels if I wanted to, I also appreciate that Bose makes it easy for me so I can really randomize my music and not have to fiddle with levels. The Bose iPhone app doesn't do much at all. It allows you to "find" your headset like a "Find My Phone" app and apply the firmware. (I hope Bose will add an equalizer to their app in the future.) Noise reduction Sony has reported to me from time to time that noise reduction (with white noise effect) is in progress. On the other hand, Bose simply stops the noise. No lag, no white noise, just silence and your music. Controls Bose controls are intuitive to find and use. I like that the on/off control is an on/off switch (rather than a seek button). In addition, you can use this button to switch between devices, e.g. B. between your phone and iPad and TV amp. There are three small buttons next to each other on the right earcup, and they control a lot of things. Volume, pause and skip, rewind, answer/reject calls, etc. There is only one Google Assistant button on the left earcup, which I programmed instead to control the noise-cancelling volume (high, low, off) . Song playback sounds much better when noise reduction is set to high, and I don't think it's related to noise (I was in a quiet environment); The bass sounds boosted by the noise cancellation for some reason. (For comparison, Sony lets you control volume, pause, play, skip, etc. by swiping on the earcup. In theory this looks great, but in practice if I tap the earcup while wearing my glasses or customize whatever I found the Sony to be a bit buggy in this regard (sometimes the music would stop and I had to reach for the phone to start the music again, which was annoying.) I found the Bose controls to be more intuitive and consistent When you turn it on, a voice also tells you how much battery you have left, which is handy.ComfortThe Bose QuietComfort is really comfortable. The ear cups are soft and don't pinch as much, and the top band is softly padded so there's less pressure on the top of the head (Sony by comparison has more clips, which was uncomfortable over glasses.) I'm a pilot and wear a similar headset, so I know how it feels after a few hours of headphones him to wear. The headphones aren't as comfortable to wear as in-ear headphones for long periods of time, but I wanted to make that compromise in order to achieve superior sound quality. Sony are bulky and look defiant. Conclusion While Sony produces excellent sound, the list of Bose's other features (excellent noise cancellation, intuitive controls, phone comfort, style and performance) won me over.
