Just started soap making and wanted larger molds than the typical ones that make soap in the 2-3 oz range. It wasn't exactly how big they would be, but after making my first batch of soap, the bars averaged 4.65 ounces (one bar weighed almost 4.8 ounces). The shapes were filled almost to the brim to get this size. Even with a mold full of soap, it was easy to handle and put in the fridge to chill without spilling. The soap dissolves easily enough but I don't really have anything to compare it to as it may or may not be lighter than most. . Regardless, the mold is flexible enough to separate from the stem and pull out the stem. My only concern is that the mold could break at the bottom of each mold when bent to get the soap out. If so, I'll just buy another one because I love the large, tub-sized bars this mold makes.
