At first I thought they were bigger. I didn't measure so it's my fault but they are quite small. However, they are good magnets. Just stick the 3M tape to the back and voila! The quantity and price are ideal for children's crafts. I bought these because I bought some Simply Canvas 4"x4" stretched canvases at Walmart and thought they would be a valuable set so bought them in an excited rush. I painted years ago so can't really attest to the quality compared to a quality canvas, and I used acrylic from Walmart's $20 Easy Acrylic kit. However, I enjoy making art in small media and it's fun. The color doesn't hold up very well so gets hard wet on wet. But even if you don't. Unless you plan to create a masterpiece, take your time as they definitely don't absorb paint/water. They can also be good for any arts/crafts that require a harsh environment, so markers can be good apart from a tiny rippled texture on the canvas.
