A very versatile device.

I took this to try on my astronomy photography project and it turned out to be very well made to withstand DIY abuse and help bring ideas to life on site In short, I made a great "equatorial wedge" out of this piece by inserting it between the tripod base and the pano ball head to support nearly 15 pounds of photo gear including counterweight.
