Review on Buyee Portable HD Media Player - 1080P Resolution, HDMI, VGA, AV Outputs, SD Card Inputs by Brian Motley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent price and quality! Additional features compared to other similar players. DTS and Dolby Surround Sound! 1080p-60Hz! Everyone play!

This media player is amazing! However, note that I was very disappointed when I played a 1080p MP4 movie on this media player for the first time as the picture was pretty terrible compared to my other devices and laptops connected to the TV. It was impossible to see how the quality should be. I immediately thought of returning. But I'm glad I didn't because then I hit the menu button and changed the video output to 1080p-60Hz (60fps) and now it looks phenomenal! Unfortunately, it's not set to 1080p by default, but that's easily fixed with a couple of clicks on the remote. Now it looks way better than my multimedia laptop connected to the same 1080p TV comparing the same scenes. I also got this particular unit because it has DTS and Dolby Surround Sound decoders which most cheap media players don't have. Another cool thing about this file player is that it loads huge MKV files very quickly, in just a few seconds! It also has a VGA port, which is found on the back of most HDTVs. So if HDMI fails one day, you can still use this player with a VGA cable. Seems to be about the same quality. I can't see any obvious differences from VGA and HDMI connections. Both are pleasant. My friend's wife also has one of these and she says she loves it because it has no Cinavia copy protection for those who like to backup their BluRay discs to MP4 or MKV files. Otherwise, she says, her kids will destroy their expensive BluRays in no time! Whoever came up with the idea for the disc, it wasn't intended for children. haha! This one costs $8 more compared to the regular $30 media player because it has DTS + Dolby, which is all it takes for a true home theater experience! worth your money! Spend a few minutes optimizing your video/image and you're spot on!
