Review on 📻 HAM Equipment Balun Kit NXO-100 for 1-30Mhz Shortwave Radio: Magnetic Balance for Enhanced Performance of Amateur Radio Antennas - DIY by Jeff Driscoll

The product probably deserves a lower rating because of the instructions. Although the video is provided, it may not help some. However, after assembling this balun (actually a neon) in a 9:1 configuration, I can say that its reception is very, very good. I've seen a 20dB gain over the PL-880's whip antenna. On shortwave you can hear hundreds of miles, if not better. This Unun is powered by a 97' 1/16" steel cable in a horizontal U configuration (Rx only). It works well on most bands. My ATU seems to be able to tune it from 80m to 15m , but it works hard 20 All in all it was fun to build given the tools and works well enough to justify the cost.
