This little puppy can put out some sound for its size. I was looking for a smaller replacement for my old sony home audio receiver used at home. I have most all audio either originating from or piped through and mixed in one of my computers. All I needed was a solid, but affordable amplifier for 2 older style jbl northridge nd310s series speakers I've used for years. Each speaker box has tweeter, 4" mid-range, and 2 10" woofers, so 8 speakers total. 250watts rms. After seeing brands like pyle and lepai that i have always associated with cheap "dubious accounting" style wattage specs and obvious heavy distortion when pushed to its supposed rms rating. After, some searching, I ran across SMSL which I have never heard before. After reading promising reviews I took the risk of ordering this unknown to me audio device online without hearing a single soundwave from it. It was worth it, for its little size (the size of a VCR tape) it makes my 4 10" woofers pound just as much and, i think, better sound quality/ less distortion than my $400 sony home theater receiver. One thing I will say though, because its all analog invest in a high quality heavily shielded cable(s) to it and get one with built in mini > rca jacks conversion if needed. This is esp important if running through other a/v cabling or close to other electronic devices as I am. It seems very sensitive to external interference but that is simply the nature of an all analog setup. def 5 out of 5 starsEDIT: So its been a few years since the review above, and after noticing it when browsing I felt I needed to say a few things. First, not sure what I was smoking that day but it defiantly does not sound better than a $400 Sony AV receiver. That is not to say it does not sound good, it does; but it does not have the low end power, filtering, and such as the Sony. It really is not an "apples to apples" comparison and kind of meaningless to include it. I think I was just so happy to finally get sound again that I became a temporary shill for smsl. It is still a great product and the last thing I will add, and probably what you will be more interested to know, it is still going strong after all this time. Still sounds the same, no power supply crap-out, and I still give it 5 stars.
